Beot is built so that your notes and data stay with you. This policy explains the little we collect, what never leaves your computer, and what happens when you connect an AI.
The short version
- The Beot app runs on your own computer. Your notes, files, calendar, todos and everything you build stay there. We don’t receive them.
- This website collects only what you type into the request access form: your email and, if you add it, what you’d use Beot for.
- We don’t sell your information, show ads, or use tracking cookies or analytics on this site.
- When you connect an AI assistant, the parts of your data it reads go to that AI’s provider, under their terms. You choose the provider, and you can disconnect it at any time.
This website
If you request access, we store your email address and the optional note about how you’d use Beot, with the date you sent it, in a managed database in the United States. We use them only to contact you about access, downloads and important updates, and to understand who Beot is for. Ask us to delete them at any time.
Our website host automatically keeps short-lived server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) to run and secure the site. We don’t use these logs to identify you.
The Beot app
- Your data stays on your device. Notes live in your own folder (your Obsidian vault), and everything else lives in a database on your computer. We don’t operate a copy.
- Updates. The installed app checks for new versions once a day by downloading them from GitHub’s package registry. GitHub sees your IP address when it does, under GitHub’s privacy statement. No usage data is sent.
- No telemetry. The app doesn’t send us analytics, crash reports or usage data.
- Phone access (optional). If you turn on phone access, it runs over your own Tailscale network, under Tailscale’s privacy policy.
AI assistants
Beot lets an AI you choose (for example Claude, ChatGPT or another app that supports MCP) read and change your workspace. When it does, the information it reads is sent to that AI’s provider and handled under the provider’s own terms and privacy policy.
- Each connection gets its own key. You can see every connection, when it was last used, and revoke it in Settings → Connections.
- Pages you lock with a PIN stay closed to your assistant unless you allow it.
- Every change an assistant makes is shown and can be undone.
- If you turn on Beot’s built-in AI, your request and the notes it needs are sent to the AI provider that runs it (Anthropic’s Claude), either with your own API key or with ours during early access. We don’t keep copies.
Sharing
We don’t sell or rent personal information. We share it only with the services that run this website and store access requests, when the law requires it, or with your permission.
Your choices
- Ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it: email ryanandnoahlee@gmail.com.
- Unsubscribe from any email we send.
- In the app, delete anything you’ve made, disconnect any assistant, or uninstall Beot. Your files stay yours either way.
Children
Beot isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update the date above, and for significant changes we’ll let people who requested access know by email.
